Revenge, Facebook Style: Brother 1, Sister 0
I’ve been laughing for the past 3 minutes about this. SoJones family, if your sibling gets on your very last nerve and you have some juicy blackmail material on them, what do you do?
The picture below explains everything, but let me tell you what happened in short:
Chris hides beer in his bedroom (we assume he’s underaged). Sister snitches on him. “asian parents are [f*ing] strict” as he explains, and they subsequently ground him for three months.
Infuriated and looking to get back at his sister, Chris subsequently discovers her very graphically detailed notes entitled “My hook up list” which describes her goals and aspirations for getting down with 10 different individuals, some of whom are crossed off aka “mission accomplished”. So what does dear brother do with this scandalous material?
He of course scans and posts it on his Facebook account. Tags hella people on it, including named “targets” who quickly find and comment on.
And now, for my personal highlights of this whole fiasco:
1. Adrian’s response-It’s one thing to hear a rumor of a girl liking you, but to see your admirer’s hook up list, then REJECT her by saying “note to self: do not hook up with Katie”, well that’s a bigtime fail!
2. The deadline- Katie wants to get all the bow-chicka-wow-wow done by April 2010. Who’s in charge of project managing this deadline? Even hoes have ambitions!
3. “If he cuts his hair I’ll give him a blowjob”- Nothing like a quick cut and BLOW dry. Heh.
4. Brother Chris ends the commenting exchange with “I <3 facebook like you <3 cock”- Katie can’t say anything to that even if she tried. Chris FTW!
Katie, I hope you find peace after being publicly humiliated. Unfortunately, this caper will linger around you like a bad smell through high school and college. It will find you during job interviews and will hang on your leg like the bad guy in a movie as you climb the career ladder. Your future husband will see it and probably your kids too.
A lesson for the rest of us on Facebook: don’t leave evidence of your freaky ways lying around or else lock your room!

Personally? I just like proudly letting my freak-flag fly. Rather than worrying about hiding things I write, I post them to my FB, Twitter, Xanga, etc. I’ll even discuss things with my friends that others would keep hidden. I haven’t committed any big crimes yet, so I really have nothing to hide. ^_^

A brief response to femwanderluster.
While I agree the end result may have been a little excessive, you cannot defend Katie on the basis that it’s her brothers fault fault “for being dumb enough to leave beer in [his] room” without also defending him on the basis that it’s HER GODDAMN fault for having a ‘fuck-list’ in her room when she knows how her parents are. The actions of both people were nearly identical, the only difference here is what they were hiding. He was hiding something that is semi-acceptable in society where she was hiding, well, a fuck list, something that her parents (if they’re as strict as described) wouldn’t react well to either. In reality, Katie was hiding something far worse than her brother was. I believe there’s a saying about stones in glass houses that might apply to this. Katie was dumb, end of story.

While I agree Chris making this public on facebook may have been a -bit- extreme, you cannot defend Katie on the basis that Chris shouldn't have had beer in his room without also defending Chris on the basis that Katie shouldn't have had a fuck-list in her room. These people essentially did the same thing, the only difference was what they were hiding. Chris was hiding socially acceptable beer that may not have been acceptable in his house, whereas Katie was hiding a fuck list, which is hardly considered acceptable ANYWHERE. Ask yourself now, based on what they were hiding, who is more in the wrong? Yeah, I believe that would be Katie. Something about throwing stones in glass houses comes to mind.

I think this may be fake. It has the option to ‘delete’ next to each of the comments, so we assume that the user is chris. However, at the top of the screen you can see the caption “Chris X’s Photos”, which would show up on every users screen except chris himself, who would see “My Photos” there instead. I actually think that what Katie did was worse. Think about this. They each found something incriminating and the sister turned it in to her parents, who freaked and grounded him for three months. There’s no option to delete the photo (on the right side, where it says tag photo/report photo) but yet it says delete next to each comment (which is only available to the original photo poster)

Um No. He would, at worst, have girls going “ewww ;)”. A guy who whores around won’t be ridiculed as long as the girls are pretty and he is well liked enough not to be teased. Some girls will shun him for getting around, but there are plenty of girls who like guys like that.
In my house the sibling code is an eye for an eye. This was way out of line. This could follow her for the a long time and in a few years he prob won’t even remember how bad/long his grounding was.

wow. I have a brother who is two years younger then me, and we are always hassling each other, but he would NEVER post anything this embarrassing or damaging to my reputation on the internet. I am all for retribution when a sibling is a jerk, but the punishment has to fit the crime. A better plan on Chris’s part would have been to plant some marijuana in Katie’s room and then show that to the parents. Then they could both be grounded. In that situation, i bet Katie would have been super pissed, probably as mad as chris was, and the two of them would have hated each other for the duration of their three month grounding. But at the end of the day, I am sure that they would both get over it and move on. They might even find the whole ordeal funny 5 years down the line. The problem with what Chris did in this situation is the fact that once his grounding was over, he was probably over being grounded. Posting this on the internet is humiliating, and something that Katie probably will never get over. He effectively damaged his sister’s reputation, her self esteem and their relationship, all in one click of a button. And any assholes that think this was a good move are stupid beyond words and I will count my blessings that my little brother is just annoying and stubborn instead of cruel and mean spirited like many of you.

I don’t think this is funny at all. Siblings rat each other out all the time as they are growing up, but there should always be an underlying loyalty to protect each other. He could have shown the list TO his parents to bust her privately, but this kid’s rage should be something that any of you with children attending his school should be really worried about.

If you're going to flip a double-standard, do it properly. The wording of several comments (IE "CLOSET whore") and the fact that she is a virgin (She's written "v-card" on there like six times), implies that she's held to some degree of esteem in public.

While I agree that it was unfair for the brother to get grounded for 3 months over 12 beers - definitely excessive - I think that it was majorly unfair that he posted his sister’s make out list. Putting on facebook for the world to see will definitely scar her for the rest of her life. He’ll be alive after 3 months, but she’s going to be embarrassed the rest of her life. Still, it was pretty entertaining.

First one: if its fake. IF its fake, its effing hilarious, and the genius who created this whole masterpiece should be awarded an equivalent for a Nobel Prize for creative humour.
Second assumption: IF its real, then that's the ultimate case of revenge. Again, we must make two assumptions.
2.1 Assumption: as shown by the pic, we assume that Katie started the whole issue by ratting Chris out. If this is the case, Katie is a real whore. One should never, ever rat out a friend or sibling. Its not out of concern that she did this to him, its out of pure malice. Conclusion 2.1: Katie deserves it. Having a deadline to sexually assault multiple victims is a crime far worse than underage drinking. Its called rape. Bottomline: Katie should be jailed.
2.2 Assumption: The pic does not show the whole story, that Katie was provoked into ratting him out. In this case, we assume that Katie was keeping Chris' secret 'til Chris "provoked" her into ratting him out. In this case, Chris is the whore.
