There’s a new kid on the green: The Driftwood Tales is a golf apparel brand inspired by unregulated lifestyles. Their mission? To connect the various subcultures they are part of and passionate about. They rock, ride, create, surf… and yes, they play golf. And they play it however and wherever it damn well pleases them.
The man calling the shots behind this new brand, Martijn Andriessen, cut his golfing teeth during his tenure as Creative Director for O’Neill. Martijn noticed the younger generation of golfers: guys who love the game but hate the dress code. They surf, they skate, they are into music and art, they travel…and they love golf. And yet, they were completely overlooked by the established golf brands.
To address this style injustice Martijn founded The Driftwood Tales –an authentic golf-wear brand for an unregulated lifestyle. Dreamed up somewhere in Indonesia, and brought to life in Amsterdam, The Driftwood Tales is all about bringing this new generation of players and their connecting subcultures closer together on and off the course.
The Wear and Flair
The small and exclusive collection is designed to make guys look good and feel good as they make their rounds – be it in a club or holding one.
Three short-sleeved tops bring fashion and function to the fore, as an all-over print or contrast-color detailing meet sharp button-down necklines and nifty little tee holders to enhance silhouettes cut from Kapok. Giving guys the best of both worlds, this technical yet 100% natural fiber provides a cooling effect as well as a silk-cotton soft touch.
The finest blends of acrylics and wool are combined with various corduroys to create a trio of caps that top any look off to a tee. Top-notch embroidered logos and straps made from the best leather seal the deal. And oh, did we mention the removable magnetic ball markers?
