Shakira Fronts Burberry's 2022 Festive Campaign

In one scene of the Christmas-themed film, the “Hips Don’t Lie” hitmaker is all dolled up in a sheer, crystal-embellished gown identical to the one Lila Moss (Kate Moss’s daughter) wore to the 2022 Met Gala. Completing her look are chunky earrings, a ring, a quilted metallic clutch, and a high ponytail.

In another scene, Shakira struts down a catwalk made up of round tables. At first, she’s wearing a corset, an A-line skirt, and knee-high boots printed with Burberry’s iconic plaid pattern. And as she twirls, a ruffle blouse is magically added to her outfit.

Next, she stoops to pick up a table napkin, which also magically turns into a mini bowling bag. Lastly, a pair of shades, bow earrings, and a trench coat (another Burberry icon) are added to the ensemble.

“I loved the blouse I’m wearing so much I asked to keep it,” the singer told British Vogue. “And the evening gown, it goes without saying, was truly a work of art.”

Shakira sat down with Vogue to talk about the campaign. “I’m honestly so thrilled about it – it’s the first time I’ve done a fashion campaign like this and Burberry is such an iconic brand,” she said. “To me Burberry is elegance personified, and timeless – fashion is such an ever changing world, always evolving. Burberry manages to evolve with the time but always keeps its distinctive, classy style.”

On making the film, she said, “It is so different than anything I’ve done before, but I love how creative this whole campaign is.”
