Gwyneth Paltrow was literally golden on her 50th birthday!

On September 27, the Oscar-winning actress and Goop founder celebrated her fifth decade on earth with a photoshoot that gave a whole new meaning to “birthday suit.” Goop shared a behind-the-scenes video on their Instagram showing how the day went. “All I know is that they’re painting me gold and that I have to be naked,” Gwyneth says in the clip.

In another carousel post, she’s on the makeup chair getting glammed up in the first pic, while the second and third photos show the Goop Beauty products that were used to achieve her look. The caption says, “The Goldfinger-meets-2022 shoot was dreamed up to celebrate her 50th birthday—with birthday-suit vibes but about as elevated as it gets.”

GOOPGENES Products To Moisturize The Face

The gold paint might have been the main thing, but the team couldn’t have achieved the look without Goop. According to an article on the brand’s website, makeup artist Lottie had to make sure Gwyneth’s skin was extremely hydrated before she could apply the gold color.

To do that, she used three Goop products on her face: GOOPGENES All-in-One Nourishing Face Cream ($98 on Goop’s website), GOOPGENES All-in-One Nourishing Eye Cream ($55), and GOOPGENES Clean Nourishing Lip Balm ($20).

GOOPGENES Nourishing Repair Body Butter

And because Lottie painted Gwyneth’s body as well, she also used GOOPGENES Nourishing Repair Body Butter ($65). “I have never felt so moisturized,” the Iron Man actress said.

GOOPGLOW Restore + Shine Hair Serum

Gwyneth’s hair got the same gold treatment as her face and body with the help of top hairstylist Mark Townsend.

Mark said, “Lottie and I agreed it was important that the gold look the same on her skin and in her hair, so we used the same loose gold powder. But in her hair, it was harder to make it look like paint, not powder.”

Enter GOOPGLOW Restore + Shine Hair Serum ($55). “I really saturated her hair with it,” Mark said. “I used quite a bit—almost a quarter of a bottle—and it was perfect.”

G.Tox Himalayan Salt Scalp Scrub Shampoo

Gwyneth’s shoot went perfectly, but then she had to get all that gold powder out of her hair. No problem – she had G.Tox Himalayan Salt Scalp Scrub Shampoo ($55).

“Nothing feels as good as this whipped shampoo,” Gwyneth said. “The chunks of pink salt massage your scalp, and it foams into this beautiful cream, smells so good, and leaves your hair so soft.”
