The red carpet is not exclusive to long gowns and sequined dresses anymore, a few bold and fashionable celebs can get away wearing streetwear and looking as equally awesome as someone wearing a Versace ensemble. Let’s take a look at the recent 58th Grammy awards and spot the great ambassadors of streetwear this 2016.
This singer songwriter looks gorgeous and super dashing with his new blonde hairdo which he matched with a beige Chanel jacket that he wore under a random white shirt. No fancy bottoms- in fact, just a torn, rugged jean with matching green sneakers that reads ‘human race’. It’s quite a down to earth ensemble compared to the suits and tux normally worn to the red carpet, but edgy and very unique – simply Pharell.
Pharell’s other half, model Helen Lasichanh, pulled off quite a unique look as well. She wore a striped dress and put on some black laced stockings, plus arm warmers that matches her leggings. She finishes the look with ankle boots with mismatched shoe laces (black, and the other one red). No fancy make up (if anything at all), just a winged cat eye and a humble headpiece.
This young singer can pull off a simple black outfit and make it glam. She wore a deep, plunging jacket with a long black high slit skirt. The star of this ensemble is her outrageously gorgeous neckpiece that goes all the way down her upper torso. She chose to complete the look with a pointed black shoe with her tattoo peeking out. She also performed at the show wearing a white version of her jacket with plunging neckline and black bottoms.
The man behind Justin Bieber’s hit song ‘What do you mean’, Skrillex is an electronic music producer and DJ who helped Bieber grabbed his first Grammy ever. On the red carpet, he wore an all black ensemble, leggings, glasses, some muted gold accessories and his signature undercut, shoulder length, one-sided hair do.
Singer Janelle Monáe is totally a stunner in the Grammys on a Jean Paul Gaultier collection. She wore a long sleeve lace top and comes with a matching black, high waist textured skirt. She completed the look wit pointed ankle boots, a matching black and white cap and a fur hand bag. Her long ponytail braided hair adds an extra flare to this look.
Songwriter of hit songs like ‘Because You Loved Me’ and ‘I don’t Want to Miss a Thing’, Dianne Warren entered the Grammy’s in her usual self with a studded black jacket over a long printed, multicolored t-shirt, black pants, and an aqua blue long strapped bag. She is on the Grammy’s as she is nominated for ‘Til It Happens to You’, a collaboration with Lady Gaga.
If you thought you’ve seen the last of Johnny Depp’s weirdest character, you’ve seen nothing yet. Depp graced the Grammys red carpet with long black sleeves and topping it off with a black vest. He added some touch of grunge streetwear look by inserting a handkerchief on his jeans side pocket. With black sunglasses on, he joined the Hollywood Vampires on stage playing the guitar. What a total rockstar!
