It seems that even after working with some of music’s biggest names (Kanye West, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, and Nicki Minaj), Drake still wants to push his musical boundaries even further and catapult his already-promising career to new heights.
After Drizzy took home the Best Hip-Hop Video award for H.Y.F.R. at the recently concluded MTV Video Music Awards, he took a second to answer some questions from the press, including questions about his dream collaborations. The Toronto rapper revealed that on the top of his wish list are R&B’s former golden boy Justin Timberlake and legendary R&B soulstress Sade.
“I would love to do a collaboration with Justin Timberlake, and [Noah “40” Shebib]…he produced with Sade, and I would love to do a song with Sade.”
Of the two, the Drake-Timberlake collaboration is much more likely to happen in the future. Sade is famously difficult to pin down for collaborations, as Drake learned when he was hoping to get the British singer-songwriter to appear on his debut album, Thank Me Later. Even the biggest names in music, including Jay-Z, have tried and failed to get the elusive singer to lend her vocals to their tracks.
However, the Drake-Sade team-up doesn’t sound too far-fetched, as Drake’s producer, Noah “40” Shebib, had the pleasure of working with Sade before. At any rate, any potential collaboration would be interesting, to say the least.
