Maybe we’ve been using the term “diamond ring” too loosely that we don’t know what a real “diamond ring” should be. The traditional “diamond ring” we know is composed of a precious-metal band, with a diamond centerpiece. Now what if the ENTIRE ring is carved from a diamond?
See why we said the term “diamond ring” has been misinterpreted? Because ballers, a ring made from a solid diamond does exist today, made by Switzerland’s Shawish Jewelry.
According to Styleite, the 150-carat ring is the ultimate diamond ring today, beating its famous competitors which include the 30-carat ring given by Richard Burton to Elizabeth Taylor or the 18-carat engagement ring given by Jay-Z to Beyonce. But science is first: how did they carve the diamond and turn it into a ring?
The creator of this ultimate jewelry, Shawish Jewelry’s president and CEO, Mohamed Shawesh took a full year to make this ring. He used lasers and also the traditional diamond cutting and polishing techniques to come up with the gorgeous (and copyrighted) design. If you’re interested in this one-of-a-kind diamond ring, prepare to shell out some $70 million for it.
