Streetwear Spotlight: Wyze Creation + GIVEAWAY!

Not having enough time in the day to take care of business is clearly a problem. On the other hand, having too much time on your hands can lead to couch-potato-ness. And once we’re in that couch potato zone, it’s difficult to get back into the swing of things to actually do something. Being unemployed isn’t an excuse – how many things have you fantasized being able to do if you didn’t have to work. You could focus all your energy on making your dreams come true like Jeffrey Fong. He used his unemployment time to concentrate on his new, thriving streetwear line: Wyze Creation.

Introduce yourself and describe how your brand was started.
My name is Jeffrey Fong and I am Creative Director and CEO of Wyze Creation. I have always had a strong passion for art and design and the dream of creating my own clothing line. I began hand painting t-shirts and selling them to friends and peers in 2005. I recently graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 2010 and found myself in the difficult position of not being able to find a job. As a result, I had a lot of time on my hands and thought that it was time to make my life long dream come true. I decided that I not only wanted to create a clothing brand, but an influential message to our buyers and those around them. Therefore, I came up with the tag-line and motto of “Spreading creativity one design at a time” because I truly want to influence anyone and everyone to utilize their creativity to its fullest potential whether it is thinking outside the box or just putting your own twist on whatever you are passionate about. From great influences and creative design ideas, the brand name Wyze Creation was born.

Describe this season’s theme and inspiration for your line.
I like to consider my designs simply complex which means at a glance, you see one thing but as you look closer and start analyzing it, you see more intricate details. I didn’t want to target one specific audience or even sell the name, but to just develop creative and beautiful designs for everyone to enjoy. A lot of my influences come from everyday living and utilizing my creativity in developing innovating designs that can wow audiences. In my designs I like to portray different artistic mediums such as paint drip, paintbrushes, spray cans, etc to help further our goal of spreading creativity. Therefore by mixing different elements together I am able to come up with a greater and more creative idea or in other words a “Wyze Creation.”

Skinny jeans, jeggings, and half naked women on t-shirts.

What current fashion trend would you like to see thrown overboard?
Skinny jeans on men, leave them for the women.

What is/was one of your most prized fashion pieces, past or present?
