Process is a huge part of giving life to a thriving streetwear line. Jaman Milledge, Dyme Dynasty clothing line founder and CEO, is the go-to person to ask about patience and virtue. His brand started way back in 1997 and finally sold worldwide in 2006. Just how dope is the brand? SoJones talked to Jaman about Dyme Dynasty.

Introduce yourself and describe how your brand was started.
My name is Jaman Milledge and I am the founder and CEO of a line of clothing called Dyme Dynasty. I started because I felt there was not a certain type of stitch or design from other lines of clothing, so I decided to make my own clothes. I founded the line of clothing in 1997. It is an urban apparel line for men and women that is based in Hartford, CT. I felt at the time when I was starting my line there wasn’t a clothing line that had an urban but also a class look with good quality material. I was inspired by the streets of Hartford, CT. Dyme Dynasty means: Dyme = a ten, the top, numero uno, the eagle, head honcho, the best of the best. Dynasty = succession of rulers Dyme Dynasty = The top of the market, no one style is flyer……. Dyme Dynasty Clothing has been officially sold throughout the United States and on the World Wide Web since 2006. Dyme Dynasty Clothing has been worn by various rappers and celebrities because of its eye catching but down to earth designs. When you wear Dyme Dynasty Clothing you make a statement that you accept nothing but the very best.

How would you describe this season’s theme and inspiration for your line?
This season’s look consists of a mixture of light and dark colors as well as pieces that are influential to the streets. I want this season’s line to really be a representation of whom you are and where you’re from. My inspiration for this season’s line was the feeling of a void in the market that was not really representing the urban apparel world.
