To get to know the clothing line better, SoJones talked to Alexis Ziritt, one of the founders of Fistful Apparel.
Introduce yourself and describe how your brand was started?
My name is Alexis Ziritt and our brand is called Fistful Apparel. Fistful was founded by illustrator Alexis Ziritt, designer Mark Malazarte, and graphic designer/Renaissance Man “AZN Mike” Houlihan. Inspired by cult and genre cinema, Japanese and European comics, Mexican culture, movie poster design, plus the whimsy and aesthetics of the Silver Age of Comic Books, Fistful specializes in creating hand-rendered art, bringing the Calavera Universe from print to apparel form.
Describe this season’s theme for your line. Include any sources of inspiration (examples: 80’s punk, muses like Amber Rose, 70’s disco bands, Kanye, etc)
The theme for our first line is inspired by Comics, Fumetti, spaghetti western, Mad Max, Pulp, Ennio Morricone, Joe Division, Japanese horror, Kaiju and Chambara.
Any product placements on celebs to keep an eye out for (examples: publicity photos, magazines, movies, music videos etc)
