For the last 40 years, Timberland has gone from the woods of Stratham, New Hampshire to the streets of NYC. In the ’90s, rappers made Timberland a must-have brand. So, it’s not surprising that Timberland would want to collaborate with one of the game’s top performers to celebrate their 40th anniversary.
Even though A$AP Rocky once said that he wouldn’t get into fashion, and that he would leave it to the professionals, maybe the dollar signs changed his mind. Because, earlier this month word got out that Rocky was going to be designing a pair of Timberland “40 Below” boots.
Rocky told Nessa on Air back on April 11:
I’m designing a pair of 40 Below Timberlands with Timberland for the anniversary of the 40 belows”
Then, we got a little sneak peak of Timberland’s infamous boot tags with Rocky’s stamp of approval last week. But, finally, we now got our first glance at the boots.
Word is that Rocky went through the archives and designed a pair of boots that remind us of what Buckshot of Black Moon rocked in the ’90s. The boots are a wheat leather color with a thickly padded collar. They’re not just tough; they also look comfortable.
There’s no release date yet, but these boots for the brand’s 40th anniversary look like something that could be worn while camping or hitting the streets. Gotta give A$AP Rocky props on this collaboration.
