They might have just posed for an intimate family photo shoot for Architectural Digest magazine just weeks ago, but Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith is reportedly calling it quits after 13 years of marriage.
In Touch Weekly magazine reported that the power couple is indeed going separate ways. In the interview with Architectural Digest about the layout of their 25,000sq ft house, Will Smith said: “It had been designed with no dead ends… to create an infinite cycle that represented what Jada and I hoped for our love”.
Jada also stated:
“For Will and me this home was always a spiritual endeavour. We’re very earthy, organic people. We wanted to create a family retreat, something made by hand and as natural as possible, something that ties back to the land. Whatever it becomes, the craftsmanship will always represent our union and the love of our family.”
However, TMZ contacted the couple’s publicist, Karynne Tencer who replied:
“What? In Touch said that? I know nothing about this … Lord. I’m going back to bed.”
In 2006, Will Smith told MTV that there will be no divorce in his marriage.
“Divorce can’t be an option. With Jada, I stood up in front of God and said, ‘Til death do us part.’ So there are two possible outcomes. One, we are going to be together till death, or two, I am dead.”
In 2009, Jada also said the same thing to Ebony magazine.
“When Will asked me to get married, I said, ‘Understand this, there will be no divorce,” she said. “So, you might be in one bedroom and I might be in another, but we’re gonna be under the same roof and we’re gonna be married.'”
Will Smith and Jada have two children together: Jaden, 13, and Willow 10 years old. From his first marriage to Sheree Zampino, Will has a son, Willard Christopher Smith who is now 18.
We still have hopes that this isn’t true, however we’ll keep our eyes and ears open for further updates. Meanwhile, what do you think? Discuss!
Will and Jada slammed the break-up rumors through a joint statement via EOnline saying:
“Although we are reluctant to respond to these types of press reports, the rumors circulating about our relationship are completely false. We are still together, and our marriage is intact.”
Will Smith’s oldest son Trey, took to his Twitter account to dismiss the rumors.
“Will and Jada getting a DIVORCE ..NOT TRUE AT ALL !! Everyone can think what they want ..even if its not true #Lame.”
Well, we guess we can breathe now. The power couple is intact and life can go on. Phew!
