Today, SoJones.com catches up with Carlos Zuniga of Just Bling and got new info on the watch brand and what they’re up to. So your brand’s name used to be Just Bling. What’s the new one and why change?
In early 2010, a new design team took control of the brand’s creative direction and revitalized what is now JBW, giving it tremendous momentum to propel from a small niche brand to a brand appealing to mass audiences, while continuing to maintain a unique identity.
The brand has officially changed to the standalone JBW, after dropping the vintage term Just Bling from its logo. JBW has also introduced a new symbolic logo, the Phoenix, as an iconic figure representing the rebirth of the brand. Today more avid than ever for innovation and urban luxury, JBW is rising again like a phoenix to claim its place in the modern world of time telling.
What are your key items this season?
Key items for this year are the multiple time zone G4, our largest watch ever the Titus, and our first digital watch ever the DMC-12 which is inspired by the Delorean (the car from back to the future).
Which of your products will look good on a sporty guy?
The Vostok with it’s ridged rubber band, slim sporty case, and car speedometer like face. This watch has sporty written all over it.
And for the dressier gentleman?
You just can’t go wrong with the G4 for a dressier look. It’s a huge polished stainless steel watch with this jet setter feel to it. I feel like you can wear that watch in any part of the world and someone will compliment you on it. (Also speaking from personal experience.)
So what’s the documentary all about?
The G4 documentary gives you an inside look at where the inspiration came from and how we began the design through sketches to 3d.
