Hip Hop Invention Spotlight: The Hook + Giveaway!

Sometimes the simplest things in life are the ones people overlook. If you think about it, there are actually a lot of times where you think “If only there’s a ____ for ____”. Thomas Gryniewicz also thought the exact same thing but unlike a lot of people, he follows up with an invention of his own. Get to know Thomas’ product that’s called “The Hook”, and we won’t blame you if you think: “Why didn’t I think of THAT?”

Introduce yourself and describe how your brand was started? Why Hooks?
My name is Thomas Gryniewicz and I am the inventor of THE HOOK.

Growing up during a time when the popularity of hats took off and self expression was always a must (by any means necessary), the concept for THE HOOK was born. I always wanted to wear a hat, but at times it was not allowed or appropriate. I hated carrying a hat around, but did not want to leave it behind so I needed a solution and there was nothing out there in the market. I developed some prototypes, and once people held them in their hand and actually thought about how often they could use it; it took off. The name seemed logical. “THE HOOK” is essential in a great Hip Hop song, and THE HOOK I developed is essential to hat wearers as well.

Why should people get the hooks?
THE HOOK is a great piece to have for several reasons. It’s another opportunity to be self expressive with your personal style, as well as the convenience it provides to keep your cap close by at all times. Let’s face it; caps aren’t cheap so the days of folding the visor and putting it in your back pocket are gone carrying it around is just a pain in the @$$.

Any plans to expand your business? New innovations maybe?
The popularity of THE HOOK is keeping us busy for now. We’re constantly working on new designs and variations of THE HOOK. Planning on some licensed lines as well as having a presence in retail stores across the country.

What current fashion trend would you like to see thrown overboard?
Skinny Jeans for Men. We’ll all look back and laugh someday soon; I hope.

What is/was one of your most prized fashion pieces, past or present?
PAST: My first pair of the original Air Jordan’s was BIG. Drove across state lines to bring a pair home from Chicago and be the ONLY one around to have them. Swear I could jump higher just putting them on. PRESENT: My Breitling Bentley watch. A great piece that I can pass down to my son Isaiah some day.
