Where to start concerning this last Sunday!
(See the Hennesey in his hand? “Blame it on the…”)
Blame what you might ask? Well on the controversial side, Kanye takes the cake, with his rushing the stage while Country-pop singer Taylor Swift was in the middle of accepting her award:

“Dear Kanye, what happened to you as a child?? Did you not get hugged enough?? Something must have happened to make you this way and I think we’re all just curious as to what would make a grown man go on national television and make a talented artist, let alone teenager, feel like sh–. I mean, I’ve seen you do some pretty sh—y things, but you just keep amazing me with your tactless, a–hole ways. It’s absolutely fascinating how much I don’t like you. I like everyone.
I even like my a–hole ex that cheated on me over you … which is pretty odd since I don’t even personally know you. The best part of this evening is that you weren’t even up for THIS award and yet you still have a problem with the outcome. Is winning a Moonman that much of a life goal?? You can have mine if it will shut you up. Is it that important, really??
He must have saved it all for Jay Leno, where he apologizes. Think he meant it?
Anyways, Beyonce comes to the rescue after accepting her MoonMan award for “Video of the Year” and asks Taylor Swift to finish what she started:
On the fashion side, Lady Gaga had her multiple uniforms in order.
One as queen of the tampons:
One as a snowy night owl:
But she also gave one of the most creative performances of the night! Weird, I know, but not bad, right?
So reader, which one did you like better: Lady Gaga’s performance, or Beyonce’s?
One of the spectacle’s of the night was rightfully Janet Jackson, who gave a remarkable tribute performance in memory of her brother Michael, performing the 2nd song they collaborated on as a team, titled “Scream” (the first being P.Y.T). Also my personal favorite song from M.J., here’s the original video for “scream”:
and now, the VMA performance/tribute:
All in all, the winners of that night were:
Beyonce: Video of the year, best choreography, best editing- Single ladies (Put a ring on it)
*Note: this particular video is slowed down at half speed so you can learn it if you want! Your welcome…
Lady Gaga– Best new artist, Best art direction, Best special effects (Paparazzi)
Eminem– Best Hip Hop video (We made you)
T.I– Best male video (Live your life)

Taylor Swift– Best female video (You belong with me)

Oh, and lastly, Jay-Z and Alicia Keys closed the show with “Empire State of Mind” from Jay’s newest album, “Blueprint 3”. Guess who showed up to crash that performance?
Nope! Close though…
Lil’ Mama! She even took some shine off the last supper, SMH..
Here’s THAT performance:
And if you are feeling like watching it for the 1st or millionth time, here is the 2009 MTV video music awards in its entirety:
