It has been a while since we first heard from R&B sensation Eric Benet. Benet has recently teamed up with YMCMB superstar Lil Wayne and created a track for all the “Redbone Girl(s)” out there. The two artists collaborated on this song, expressing their love and admiration for women who are what they consider “redbones.” This single is one of the first singles to be released off of Benet’s upcoming album, entitled The One, which will be available June 5.
Grammy-nominated artist Eric Benet is most noted for his duet with Tamia, “Spend My Life With You.” Benet first arrived on the music scene during the mid 1990s with his first album, True to Myself. Some of the songs from the album were used for the film A Thin Line Between Love and Hate, which starred the hilarious Martin Lawrence. After the success of Benet’s first album, he went on to make a few more, which are as follows: A Day in the Life, Better and Better, Hurricane, Love & Life, and Lost in Time. His fan based is known for being diverse, and he has delivered such infamous R&B hits as “Femininity,” “Georgey Porgy,” “Only Want to Be With You,” “Sometimes I Cry,” and “When You Think of Me.”
Eric Benet is also known for marrying one of Hollywood’s most acclaimed actresses, Halle Berry. They were married from 2001 to 2005. On 31 July, 2011, he married Prince’s ex-wife, Manuela Testolini, who gave birth to their first child, a baby girl, Lucia Bella. Now the sultry Eric Benet is focused on his music again.
