Jay-Z is still doing it. Despite the US recession it seems the rapper has no reason to talk about such depressing
matters as he said in his latest hit single "Jockin Jay-Z." Somehow the Hustlers' Huslter has created $18.3 million
in sales for the Hip-Hop clothing line he formerly owned, Rocawear.
With the United States electing new president Barrack Obama recently, it seems the victories keep rolling in for the
Brooklyn-born Music Legend. Rocawear clothing has reported they are above water and earning money for its parent
company Iconix Brand Group despite a economic woes.
Iconix, which bought Rocawear from Jay-Z in 2007 for $204 million, banked more than $18.3 million for the third
quarter of 2008.
According to Iconix CEO Neil Cole, Jay-Z’s direct involvement with Rocawear helped boost the company’s earnings,
as did growing sales from the company’s London Fog brand of clothing. According to Cole, the two brands were the
“two biggest standouts in the quarter.”
Rocawear Clothing is still growing as a brand as Jay-Z's fame reaches every crevice of the world. Recently debuting
its first fragrance, 9IX Rocawear, and R+, Premium Rocawear brand the Iconix company will rake in record revenues
from the Jay-Z powered Hip Hop clothing range.
Both Rocawear's new fragrance and R+ premium clothing and boots can be found in limited quantities on the
